Jessica Besonen elected to DBIA-UMR Executive CommitteeJanuary 2017, by Elliot Christensen
Shingobee Project Manager Jessica Besonen has been elected to the Executive Committee of Design-Build Institute of America, Upper Midwest Region (DBIA-UMR), as its President. She presided over their initial breakfast meeting of the year, on January 18, which featured a presentation by the City of St. Paul and the St. Paul Port Authority.
As a Project Manager at Shingobee Builders, Jessica has experience in many different markets including office, industrial, restaurant, gas stations, day care, and grocery stores. She has experience in both design-build and bid-build projects, which helps her to better convey the benefits of design-build throughout the upper Midwest. She has been an active member of DBIA-UMR for over three years where she has served on the DBIA National Young Professionals Board and chaired the Awards Committee and the Young Professionals Committee.
The Upper Midwest Region of DBIA was founded in 2003 to provide design-build education, networking, information, and advocacy to its members in the states of Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The Design-Build Institute of America is an association of owners, architects, engineers, and contractors in the design and construction industry utilizing design-build and integrated project delivery methods to achieve high performance projects.
