ADC Telecommunications

Chanhassen, Minnesota

Turnkey tenant improvements, including the design/build of mechanical and electrical systems, were provided for this fast-growing telecommunications company. The space consisted of private and open office systems, a network operations center (computer room), a cafeteria, conference rooms, and training rooms.

This 110,000-square-foot tenant improvement project was conducted on a fast-track basis. The building shell was still under construction when we began the tenant improvements for ADC. The architect and owner had envisioned a high-tech/high finish environment that was heavily wired for phone and high-speed data capabilities. Cooperation and communication among the owner, architect, and Shingobee were critical in order to maintain an aggressive schedule.

We completed the project, start to finish, in 11 weeks, including furnishings and move-in time by ADC. The budget was increased 10 percent by the owner to upgrade finishes and electrical systems, but otherwise, there were NO change orders due to “dropped balls” or gaps due to the fast track process. Their move-in deadline and budget were met.
