A well-established chain of banks in South Dakota, CorTrust Bank moved into the Twin Cities market in 2009 with the purchase of a failed bank in Woodbury, MN. Over the course of the next year, it rebuilt the bank’s business in the local market, and was in need of a larger facility to accommodate its growing business and staff.
HTG Architects, a leading bank design firm (Eden Prairie, MN), was engaged to design a facility that would become the Bank’s flagship location for the metro area. The 5,300 square foot, single story building is located in the new Commerce Hill retail center, near major shopping and residential areas of Woodbury.
The building features an exterior of brick and EIFS, with a striking radius-glass entrance. The interior features warm wood details, custom wood fixtures, a traditional teller line, and a comfortable lobby area with coffee bar and television. A unique wall panel system, Trainor Modular Wall System, was used to create office partition walls, to allow flexibility for future changes in layout.
The building was turned over to the Bank on time and on budget. CorTrust opened its new flagship branch in early June 2011, with a grand opening and ribbon cutting celebration that attracted hundreds of people from the local community and the bank. With their move into the new facility, CorTrust Bank now has a solid base for operations in Minnesota, and room to grow their business.
“We were extremely pleased with our selection of contractors. The Shingobee staff was wonderful to work with; things were done in a timely and efficient manner, workmanship was high quality and communication was excellent. Any issues that arose during the construction project were dealt with immediately and effectively. The few call back items that we had after completion were dealt with in a timely manner and to our satisfaction.”
