Bad River Health & Wellness Center

Odanah, Wisconsin

Shingobee provided construction management at-risk services for this new 25,000-square-foot facility for the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa in Odanah, Wisconsin.

The medical center contains a medical clinic, dental clinic, vision care center, pharmacy, lab and x-ray areas, administrative offices, and a large community room. The building’s design (by DSGW Architects) incorporates the tribal culture. One example of this is a “medicine path,” an informative and healing path that encourages patients to reflect on the Anishinaabe culture at seven locations.

Construction was completed in October 2010, following a 10-month construction period.
