Shingobee is proud to announce that Alamo Drafthouse Cinema has been named a Top Project of 2018 by Finance & Commerce. Shingobee provided construction of the first Minnesota location of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema for owner RPT Realty. As the new anchor of the renovated Woodbury Lakes shopping center, it provides an experiential draw to attract shoppers.

Tour the National Award Winning Four Winds School

On March 27, 2019, Shingobee Builders was honored by Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) as an Eagle Winner, the highest award in ABC’s National Excellence in Construction Awards competition, for our work on Four Winds Alternative & Career Technology Education High School in Fort Totten, North Dakota. 

 

The school is a Net Zero Energy Building, which means it produces as much energy as it uses. It has multiple innovative sustainable construction features. Check them out in our tour below!

New Convenience Store & Water Efficient Car Wash Near Completion

The latest addition to Shingobee’s lengthy resume of convenience stores / fuel stations / car washes is the Now Mart Gas & Groceries. The convenience store was built over the past winter and opened on February 18.

 

This project includes a 5,000 sq. ft. convenience store designed by HW2 Design, fuel station, and 3,800 sq. ft. Tommy Car Wash. The car wash, which is designed to utilize rainwater captured from all of the impervious surfaces on the site, as well as reclaimed water from the wash, will open this spring.

Shingobee Earns Top National Awards for Four Winds School Construction

Shingobee Builders has been honored by Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) as an Eagle Winner, the highest award in ABC’s National Excellence in Construction Awards competition, for our work on Four Winds Alternative & Career Technology Education High School in Fort Totten, North Dakota.

 

The project also received a special recognition, a Greener Tomorrow Award, for its utilization of sustainability best practices. Shingobee Vice President Tony Godlewski and Superintendent Eric George received the awards March 27, 2019, during the 29th annual Excellence in Construction Awards celebration in Long Beach, California.

It's Women in Construction Week

Women are a growing part of this industry, and Shingobee has a long history of women holding important roles, starting with its founding in 1980 by Gae Veit, a Native American woman who retired in 2007. In 2018, the company returned to its roots as a woman-led construction company when industry veteran and 14-year employee Nancy Samson became its new owner, president, and CEO.
