Mountrail-Williams Electric Cooperative

Williston, North Dakota

Shingobee completed construction of a new warehouse/distribution facility for Mountrail-Williams Electric Cooperative in Williston, North Dakota, in 2011. The 32,000-square-foot facility significantly improved MWEC’s ability to move inventory quickly from supplier to construction crews, to meet the needs of the booming growth in northwest North Dakota. In addition to space for MWEC equipment and personnel, the building provides warehouse space for RESCO, a rural electric supply cooperative, and for Basin Electric Power Cooperative.

Shingobee completed the warehouse within a very tight construction schedule, generated by the high demand for the electric cooperative’s services.

In 2014-15, Shingobee provided the construction of a parking garage for the Electric Cooperative. The 65,000-square-foot facility is used for warm parking of vehicles. Construction included precast concrete exterior walls, burnished and plain CMU interior walls, steel columns and roof joists, standing seam metal roof, heated concrete floor, and exterior concrete paving with drainage systems. In addition to vehicle parking, the building contains locker rooms, linemen office, laundry, miscellaneous storage and mezzanine storage.
