Shingobee Builders, Inc. is pleased to announce we will be working with developer Ramco-Gershenson Properties Trust for construction of the first Minnesota location of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, at the Woodbury Lakes retail center in Woodbury, MN.

Austin, Texas-based Alamo Drafthouse combines dining and drinking with the traditional movie-going experience. The nine-screen theater will feature a full-service bar, restaurant and outdoor patio, and patrons can order from their seats in the theater. Alamo Drafthouse, which was launched by Tim and Karrie League in 1997, now has 29 locations.

The theater is the latest addition to the Woodbury Lakes retail center, which Ramco-Gershenson of Farmington Hills, Mich., has owned since 2014. Recent improvements to the center, which is located near the I-94/Radio Drive intersection, have included addition of a Crave restaurant, expansion of an H&M store, and parking and streetscape improvements. The developer plans to continue adding new retailers and other businesses in future redevelopment phases.

Alamo Interior

Shingobee will be providing construction of the 43,392 square foot theater building, all interior improvements, and related site work. The exterior shell will utilize a unique construction method, cast-on-site tilt-up concrete panels, and will be finished with a full brick veneer, EIFS, and cultured stone. Interior finishes will be similar to other Alamo Drafthouse locations, with use of barnwood, brick, granite counters, and other finishes, to give a contemporary, rustic appearance. Construction is starting in September and is scheduled for completion by late spring 2018.
